Sessions are available in-person, by video, or by phone. Video sessions take place on a secure platform that meets requirements for health-related sessions in Canada. Please see COVID-19 guidelines for in-person sessions below.
Sessions are 60 minutes long and cost $130. Full payment is due at the end of each session, and can be made by cash, internet transfer, or cheque. I require 24 hours notice to change or cancel a session, except when you are not able to attend a session due to COVID-19 symptoms or instructions to self-isolate.
I offer FREE initial 30 minute consultations.
Counselling is covered by some extended health plans, and I am able to accept clients covered by the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP).
I believe that counselling should be accessible to all. If you cannot afford my standard fee, please contact me to discuss other payment possibilities, or to be referred to a free or low-cost community resource.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR IN-PERSON SESSIONS
Updated November 22, 2020
- ILLNESS/QUARANTINE: Please stay home if you have any symptoms of Covid-19, have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19, or have been told to self-isolate for any reason. I will do the same.
- ENTRANCE/EXIT: the stairways in the building are now 1-way only to prevent people passing each other on the stairs. If you are taking the stairs, you may enter via the FORT street entrance, and exit via the BROUGHTON street entrance only. If you are taking the elevator, please limit passengers to one at a time.
- BATHROOMS: bathrooms will be limited to single-use only. Please knock before opening the bathroom and wait until it is empty before entering.
- WAITNG ROOM: Please arrive exactly at your appointment time in order to minimize the need for time in the waiting room. We will have a limit of one person in the waiting room at a time for those who must wait. If you arrive early for your appointment and there is someone in the waiting room, please wait in the hallway at least 6 feet from others.
- SANITIZATION: all high-touch areas with hard surfaces will be sanitized between each client.
- HAND SANITIZER: there is hand sanitizer provided for you to use upon entering and exiting your appointment
- WATER/DRINKS: we will no longer be offering water in the waiting room. There is water available in the counselling office, and all touchable areas will be sanitized between each client. You are also welcome to bring your own beverages to sessions.
- DISTANCE: During sessions our chairs will be positioned so that we are able to maintain social distance at all times.
- MASKS: Masks must be worn at all times except when we are both seated in our chairs and in session. Masks are mandatory in the building hallways, stairwells, elevators, office waiting room, and in the office space until all parties are seated and distanced.
- PHONE AND VIDEO SESSIONS: I am available to meet by phone or video as an alternative to meeting in person. Please let me know if you’d prefer one of these options when booking.
- CANCELLATION: My usual cancellation fee will be waived if you are unable to attend a session on short notice due to Covid-19 symptoms or instructions to self-isolate.
- AIR PURIFIER/AIR FLOW: At times, I may open a window or use an air purifier to create more ventilation in the room. This may increase noise during sessions, and/or make it more difficult to control temperature. Please consider dressing in layers for sessions.
- RISK: While precautions based on the best current understanding of COVID-19 transmission will be taken, please understand that the risk is not zero if attending sessions in-person.
