Sessions are available in-person, by video, or by phone. Video sessions take place on a secure platform that meets requirements for health-related sessions in Canada. Please see COVID-19 guidelines for in-person sessions below.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $160 including GST. Full payment is due at the end of each session, and can be made by e-transfer, cash, or cheque. I require 24 hours notice to change or cancel a session, except in the case of an emergency or when you are not able to attend a session due to COVID-19 symptoms or instructions to self-isolate. I charge the full session amount for missed sessions or sessions cancelled without 24 hours notice.
I offer FREE initial 30 minute consultations.
Counselling is covered by some extended health plans, and I am able to accept clients covered by the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP).
I believe that counselling should be accessible to all. If you cannot afford my standard fee, please contact me to discuss other payment possibilities, or to be referred to a free or low-cost community resource.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR IN-PERSON SESSIONS
Updated February 5, 2023
· ILLNESS: Please stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or other illness, have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or have been told to self-isolate for any reason. I will do the same.
· HAND SANITIZER: hand sanitizer is available in the waiting room as well as the counselling office.
· MASKS: Masks are always welcome, but not currently required during sessions.
· CANCELLATION: My usual cancellation fee will be waived if you are unable to attend a session on short notice due to COVID-19 symptoms, other illness, or instructions to self-isolate. And I always appreciate as much notice as possible.
· AIR PURIFIER/AIR FLOW: A HEPA air purifier will be used during our sessions, and at times, I may also open windows to create more ventilation in the room. This may increase noise during sessions and make it more difficult to control temperature. Please consider dressing in layers for sessions.
· RISK: While precautions are based on the best current recommendations for preventing COVID-19 transmissions, please understand that there is always a risk of contracting COVID-19 or other illness if attending in-person sessions.
