Sessions are available in-person, by video, or by phone. Video sessions take place on a secure platform that meets requirements for health-related sessions in Canada. Please see COVID-19 guidelines for in-person sessions below.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $130. Full payment is due at the end of each session, and can be made by cash, internet transfer, or cheque. I require 24 hours notice to change or cancel a session, except when you are not able to attend a session due to COVID-19 symptoms or instructions to self-isolate.
I offer FREE initial 30 minute consultations.
Counselling is covered by some extended health plans, and I am able to accept clients covered by the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP).
I believe that counselling should be accessible to all. If you cannot afford my standard fee, please contact me to discuss other payment possibilities, or to be referred to a free or low-cost community resource.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR IN-PERSON SESSIONS
Updated June 22, 2022
· VACCINATION: In-person sessions are available for people who have received two or three doses of a COVID-19 vaccination only. I am available to meet by phone or by video as an alternative to meeting in person. Please let me know at the time of booking if you would prefer this option.
· ILLNESS/QURARANTINE: Please stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or have been told to self-isolate for any reason. I will do the same.
· WAITING ROOM: We will have a limit of one person in the waiting room at a time. If you arrive early for your appointment and there is someone in the waiting room, please wait in the hallway at least 6 feet from others.
· HAND SANITIZER: hand sanitizer is available in the waiting room as well as the counselling office.
· DISTANCE: During sessions our chairs will be positioned so that we are able to maintain at least 6 feet of distance.
· MASKS: I will wear a mask until we are both seated in our chairs and distanced, and ask that you do too. Masks can be taken off during our session.
· CANCELLATION: My usual cancellation fee will be waived if you are unable to attend a session on short notice due to COVID-19 symptoms or instructions to self-isolate.
· AIR PURIFIER/AIR FLOW: A HEPA air purifier will be used during our sessions, and at times, I may also open windows to create more ventilation in the room. This may increase noise during sessions and make it more difficult to control temperature. Please consider dressing in layers for sessions.
· RISK: While precautions based on the best current understanding of COVID-19 transmission will be taken, please understand that there is always a risk of contracting COVID-19 if attending in-person sessions.
